I remember first seeing bucket hats during my early teen years in music videos of my favorite rappers. Later, of course, sported on groups of boy gangs hanging out outside of school or at the mall, the Kangol logo forever imprinted in my memory. This soon after evolved into an elevated Gucci, Burberry, and Ralph Lauren bucket hat.
Fast forward 15 years and we find ourselves once again in a fashion cycle completely obsessed with streetwear. When I first started to see the revival of the bucket hat on a few of my favorite street stylers, I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical. To me, it was just a winter fad, a practical yet trendy way of utilitarian dressing, concealing yourself from freezing rain and snowfall. I figured it would be gone with the winter season! Well, turns out, I was wrong…
According to our aspiring fashion-week goers and celeb icon’s, the bucket hat is back in a big way and prepared for any weather thrown their way.

With the rise of 70’s revival and a forever trend towards neutral dressing, this a color palette you can’t go wrong with. For our more conservatives dressers who still want in with the trend, we’d suggest a tonal take on bucket hats.

That takes us to the next trending fabric, Vinyl. Again, seen on seasonal staples such as miniskirts, pants, and trenches, Vinyl is now on the must-have list for bucket hats. As seen on Kendall Jenner and many Fashion Week goers, it really was no surprise to see this shiny, resilient material make our list.
