In a world where the virtual often takes over the reality, a world which can sometimes feel too superficial – it is important to act with purpose. Say what you want about the Millennial generation but not a single report on the generation will fail to mention how it is a much more environmentally and socially conscious group than any older generations. For the Millennials out there looking to make a difference and get involved, here are some charity opportunities to give back to the community in the UAE:
Volunteers.ae is a super user-friendly portal to connect volunteers and charity organizations. To date it records more than 350,000 volunteers and 369 charity organizations. You can find the right opportunities by selecting an emirate or an interest (education, hospitals, children etc.). Once you find the right fit, you can see a detailed description with organizer’s contact information.
Established by The Emirates Foundation in 2007, the charity initiative’s main purpose is to raise awareness of those in need in our communities and to encourage young people to take part in voluntary work to help them. Browse the site to read about other volunteers success stories, register and join the upcoming events.
UAE Red Crescent Authority was established in January 1983 and gained the international recognition as 139th member of the International Federation of Red Crescent and Red Cross in1986.
