Between PlayStation 1&2 literally thousands of titles were released! While some of those games have already received reboots, re-releasees, or updates, there are a few great games we wish would get similar treatment! Here are the top five games that deserve new life!
In this platform game, you follow the humble floor-waxing alien known as Abe. One day, he happens to overhear his boss planning to use all of Abe’s race to help with his failing meat packing business. How? By using Abe and his fellow aliens as the meat! It’s up to Abe to save them all! It is available on Steam currently, and there is a new Oddworld title due out sometime in 2019, but details on this have been scarce. Abe’s Oddysee itself, however, could benefit from a hard polish to update graphics and streamline game-play. With a 9/10 on Steam and a 96% approval rating among Google users, this well loved game would do well if given a refresh!
With truly incredible voice work and entertaining game play, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver was a triumph! Taking on the role of former vampire Azriel, you exacted your revenge on your maker who destroyed you, phasing back and forth between the real word and the ethereal realm on your hunt. With over 60 hours of game play, and tons of cinematic scenes, this game earned glowing reviews! It’s now available on Steam, though many users complain of clunky mechanics and it needing a face lift to be more compatible with today’s game play standards.
Also sometimes called Dark Cloud 2, this role-playing game was amazingly fun! You played using two characters, Max and Monica, trying to save the future of the world from catastrophe! This game had a lot going on; dungeon raiding,crafting, city building,fishing. The anime style graphics were cute and the game was addictive as a whole. It was given a graphics upgrade and put on the Playstation network two years ago, but we would love a sequel! Though one has been teased a few times since the game’s original release, it has never happened.
This game, very loosely based on “The Divine Comedy”, had you hunting demons with a man named…you guessed it..Dante! Hailed to be one of the best and most innovative game of its time, Devil May Cry was fast paced, stylish, and a whole lot of fun. Subsequent follow ups were made and a franchise was born. The newest installment is due out in Spring of next year. However, the very first outing remains one of best! Available on the Playstation Network billed as being “HD”, the graphics appear very much the same as they always were. We would love to see a total update given to this old, trailblazing classic!
Follow detective Aya Brea as she tries to stop a woman who wants to destroy humanity! This innovative game had a Final Fantasy feel, but with a darker twist. With its must think ahead battles and gorgeous graphics, this game has a devoted fan base which is still vocal. Fans would love to see anything happen to this game, an update, a reboot, a sequel. ANYTHING!
