Biggest Dance Songs Of The 90’s

When the 90’s calls, that’s one call you wanna answer. Now, more than ever, we miss the light-hearted fun of that decade. They were definitely simpler times, when the things we stressed over were much less dire. But, whether then or now, one thing that is a great stress reliever and mood booster is dancing. The 90’s was a prime decade for some great music to dance to. Check out our list of the biggest dance songs of the 90’s and get ready to groove. Do you remember shakin’ it to any of these tunes?

Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now): C+C Music Factory

At the start of the 90’s, this song was everywhere! You couldn’t escape it. And really, you didn’t even mind. It was fun, and yeah, it made you move. The song debuted in 1990, and really hasn’t ever completely gone away. It starts off with a lady exuberantly declaring ‘Everybody dance now!”. Oh, okay. We will now commence with the dancing, because we don’t have a choice. The song makes a compelling case. It still manages to make many lists when it comes to the biggest dance songs of all time. As for the video? Oh, so much 90’s.

Vogue: Madonna

Another one of the biggest dance songs of the entire 90’s was this gem, also released in 1990. It’s good to start off a decade with a bang, right? “Vogue” not only invited people to get up off their butts and dance, but brought vogue dancing into the mainstream. The song speaks to the wonderful escapism that can be found in music and dancing. It’s hard not to get your groove on when the Queen of Pop invites you to.

Wannabe: Spice Girls

Boy and girl bands saw a big resurgence in the 90’s. Few girl bands made as big of a splash as the Spice Girls. “Wannabe” debuted in December of ’95 and had people packing dance floors. Sure, it may have also raised the question of WTF is “zig-a-zig-ahhh”, but a little mystery is always good.

Waiting For Tonight: Jennifer Lopez

At the tail end of the decade, Jennifer Lopez released one of the 90’s biggest dance songs. Music critics have even gone so far as to say this is the best song of Lopez’s entire career as it cemented her place as a dance/pop artist. Watching the video, which is supposed to depict a Y2K party to welcome in the new millennium, it’s hard not to bop along and relive all those fond 90’s memories.
