Foot Stomping Classic Rock Anthems

There are some songs that just make you wanna move. When it comes to classic rock, the genre is full of foot stomping anthems that have a way of getting inside you. These songs rock so hard that you just have no choice but to stomp your foot, bop your head, and sing along (whether you actually know the words or not). Next time you need a serious rock-fest, pull one of these classic rock anthems up and let it all out.

We Will Rock You”: Queen

K, you probably saw this one coming, but c’mon now! This classic rock anthem was made for foot stomping. There’s a reason this song has stayed so popular and is played at many sporting events to hype up the fans. There’s something kinda magical about being in a stadium full of people all stomping their feet and clapping their hands at the same time. While a lot of Queen’s music could definitely fall in the “foot stomping” category, this one is the be all and end all.

Me & Bobby McGee”: Janice Joplin

Starting off somewhat slow and melodious, Joplin’s song is about two drifters who road trip across the country. The two eventually part ways, and the song tells of the sadness and anger left in the wake of the relationship ending. The soft, gentle reminiscence first sung of in the beginning of the song turns more frantic and frenzied as the song progresses. It’s a fun listen, sung beautifully by Joplin, and definitely qualifies as a foot stomping anthem.

Dream On”: Aerosmith

Aerosmith is a band that is classic rock royalty. Over the years, they’ve released a ton of hits, but “Dream On” might just be the one that is their greatest foot stomping anthem. The song was released on their debut album, way back in 1973. Between lead singer Steven Tyler’s soaring vocals and that strong drum beat, there’s no may you can listen and stay immobile.

Stairway To Heaven” : Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin. That should really be it, what more is there to say? This British classic rock band ranks as one of the best bands of any genre, of all time. The song was released in 1971, and to this day remains one of the most instantly recognizable songs ever written. The progressive nature of the tune, as it slowly builds in tempo and volume is one of the best slow burns ever. You may start out swaying at first, but by the end of the song, your foot will be stomping for sure.

Thunderstruck”: AC/DC

Hailing from Australia, these Aussie boys sure knew how to rock. With its frantic solo guitar leading the way, a simple drum beat joins the soon to be fray. It’s one heck of a build up, and it’s a song that will start your foot to stomping and won’t let up until the end.
