Bruce Almighty was actually a really solid comedy. Jim Carrey, Morgan Freeman, and Jennifer Aniston all really manged to shine. Carrey’s typically bombastic brand of comedy was even somewhat tempered by the material, and actually worked where it was let off its leash. As funny as the movie was, there was one scene in-particular that you couldn’t help but laugh at. When the work rival of Carrey has his shot at lead news anchor, Carrey can’t help but use some “divine intervention”. Evan (the rival), is played by Steve Carell, who we know has fabulous comedic chops. But this scene? Definitely one of the funniest movie scenes ever.
With a cast like Bridesmaids had, you knew this movie was gonna be packed with hysterical scenes. In a movie this funny, it can be difficult to single out a single scene as the funniest. However, the airplane scene managed to combine humor with a cringe-worthy series of events. We might all have dreamed about sneaking into first class on a flight, but an inebriated Kristen Wiig takes it to an all new level.
Monty Python is one of the most legendary comedy troupes of all time. Seriously, these guys helped define comedy. This movie is hilarious, from start to finish. Yes, there’s plenty of that dry English wit to chortle at. But, there’s also plenty of laugh out loud kind of moments. The movie Airplane! is definitely funny. It’s full of absurdity, sight gags, dead-pan humor, and is just genuinely a good time. Pick any random scene from this flick and you are pretty much guaranteed to laugh. For anyone who has ever flown, and had to sit in the general vicinity of “that traveler”, you can appreciate this scene. Who hasn’t wanted to slap your neighbor in seat C5 from time to time?
In a movie that was already pretty dang funny, somehow Tom Cruise managed to steal the whole shebang. Wearing a suit that added a few pounds, and stripping away his good looks, Cruise morphed into a high powered, foul mouthed, surprisingly good dancer, of a Hollywood producer. When the movie first hit theaters, some people didn’t even realize that it was Cruise under all that makeup. Just a head’s up, the clip is definitely NSFW with all the swearing, but it is funny as all get out.
