5 Indoor Activities For the Dubai Summer

Our side of the world can get hot, but like seriously hot, during the summer months. It becomes a real chore to do absolutely anything outside and come July most of us can only stand it for about 3 minutes before feeling like we’re an ice cream cone left over an open fire. As a result, we begin to flee indoors looking for anything fun to do other than strolling aimlessly through a crowded mall. Don’t you worry – the Modern East has got you covered! Check out these fun indoor activities that you can pass the time with during our scorching Dubai summer.

Wavehouse

We’re firm believers that you can never get too old for an arcade, after all, can you ever outgrow winning? This is the perfect place to get competitive with your friends and family and enjoy the arcade games you know and love. If arcades are not really your cup of tea, the place also has a bowling alley you can show off your skills at.

Cooking (or other) Classes

With all the time we’re about to spend inside, why not learn a new skill? Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an experienced master of the kitchen, taking a cooking class can be a lot of fun. Go with a friend or loved one and learn to make anything from sushi or homemade pasta to a delectable macaron.

Bounce (Trampoline)

We wouldn’t recommend you do this one after brunch because well, that could get quite messy… Nonetheless, if you’re feeling like letting go and jumping around, there is no better place to do that than the Bounce Trampoline Park. If you don’t know what it is, well it’s exactly what it sounds like, a room filled with trampolines!  Bounce is the perfect place to let out your inner child and we guarantee this place will bring a smile to your face.

Skiing and Ice Skating

This is just your typical summertime activity tbh. I mean, floating on ice and wearing a t-shirt in 50-degree weather is totally normal, isn’t it? Head over to Dubai Mall or Mall of the Emirates for an ice-tastic experience if you ever find yourself forgetting what winter feels like – trust us, it will happen.

Brunch

If you’re more a fan of the eating than the cooking, fill your Friday with one of Dubai’s infamous brunches. These events are usually feasts that you’ll have to start preparing for from the day before – so hold on having that cheeseburger the night before and go for a salad instead. Trust us, you’ll need your appetite.
