ASMR shou? Thanks to W magazine who recently released videos of celebrities such as Cardi B (who admitted being an ASMR super fan) doing ASMR videos, the trend is spreading faster than ever. Back in 2016, Google themselves were calling it “the biggest YouTube trend you’ve never heard of”. “ASMR videos” with more searches on YouTube than “candy” or “chocolate”, is essentially the sensation of tingles or shivers you feel running down your spine when someone plays with your hair or whispers in your ears. Nowadays, millions of viewers around the world choose this method as a mean to relax or even fall asleep.

ASMR stands for autonomous sensory meridian response and nowadays you can generate this response on your own thanks to YouTube and its community of ASMR video creators. So how do you trigger this relaxing feeling on video? It differs from individual to individual and some are actually unable to experience ASMR ,but some of the most common ones are: the sound of whispers, eating, fire cracking, rain, white noise, hair dryers, finger tapping, soft voices saying trigger words. Although she has not posted any new video for almost a year, Heather remains one of the pioneers of ASMR videos on YouTube. With over a hundred videos to choose from, Heather focuses on role plays.

3) ASMR Darling

More than 2 million subscribers and over 350 million views, ASMR DARLING specializes in triggers to help viewers sleep.

4) ASMR PPMO

Coming from Korea, ASMR PPMO has managed to gather more than 1.5 million subscribers with videos focused on the sound of eating and massages.

5) Gentle Whispering

Her most popular video counts over 20 million videos and is divided in 5 parts: wooden brush sounds / smoke blowing / temples rub and scalp massage / shoulder rub and feather tickle hoping that by the end of the 16 minute video the viewer will be asleep.
