Ways To Be More Body Positive

Many of us struggle with body positivity from time to time. We’re here to tell you: Stahhhhppp thinking you are anything less than fabulous! Yes, we know, easier said than done. Changing our own way of thinking can seem like an uphill battle sometimes. But, making an effort to love the skin you’re in is a worthy undertaking. If you struggle with being your own worst critic, we’ve got some helpful tips on how to be more body positive. You can do this.

Say It Out Loud

One of the simplest things you can do to be more body positive is to compliment yourself out loud. Stand in front of a mirror and tell yourself you are looking fabulous! If you think you are serving lewks, say it aloud. Love your hair that day? Tell yourself. Yes, it may feel a bit silly at first, but it’s just you and the mirror. Do it. You will be amazed at how good it can make you feel and how after doing it for awhile, you tend to feel more confident overall.

Check Yoself

Combating those negative thoughts is another key to becoming more body positive. Next time you start to be critical of yourself, stop for a second. Think to yourself, “Wait, would I say that to a stranger, or a friend?” Chances are very good that you wouldn’t. So why, in the world, would you be so cruel and critical to yourself?

It’s The Total Package

Many of us have that one particular part of our body that we seem most negatively fixated on. Alright, gurl, we see you. Butcha need to stop. Next time you look at yourself and start to focus on the part(s) you don’t exactly love, stop. Focus on the whole. You are the sum of the whole, after all. Focus on all of you, and realize that you are so much more.
