Hardest Video Game Bosses Ever

If you’re a gamer, you likely know the agony of defeat intimately. Some might argue that really great games require difficult and challenging bosses. You know, something about a victory being empty without a challenge, and yadda yadda yadda. But. there are those video game bosses that just seem created to give you wrinkles and send you tip-toeing towards insanity and rage. Eventually you lose count of how many times your character has died attempting to best the foe, and you either walk away from the game for awhile, or order in and don’t see the sunshine for a few days until you beat it. Here’s our picks for some of the hardest video game bosses ever.

Grim Matchstick: Cuphead

If you’ve ever played Cuphead before, you have probably rage quit a few times during the boss battles. In a game that is infamous for its hard bosses, picking a toughest one was well, tough. But this Puff The Magic Dragon like boss stands out as one of the absolute hardest.

Shiva:Final Fantasy X

This boss was absolutely the stuff of nightmares. Every move you made had to be extremely strategic, and one false move could end up in your entire party being insta-killed. Even worse? This BA lady could take the better part of an hour to fight. Definitely one of the hardest video game bosses ever.

Sigrun the Valkyrie Queen: God of War

If the latest God of War title’s bosses didn’t provide enough of a challenge for you, then you should try out this secret boss fight. She’s only available after you finish the game and complete a favor asking you to hunt corrupted Valkyries. No hack and slash tactics here, you’ll have to bring your strategy, skill, and definitely, A-game for this one.

Ornstein and Smough: Dark Souls

One of the hardest video game bosses not enough? How about two of them at once? These two tough guys give a masterclass in butt-kicking, and are a total tag-team of pain. If you give them a try, pad your controller first. You’re probably going to throw it a few times.
