5 International Designers to Wear this Ramadan

With the Holy month of Ramadan rapidly approaching, its time to look to more joyous moments and prepare for a special month filled with prayer and family. It’s also a time to stay in your most comfortable clothing and that means no other than the Kaftan!

Today on The Modern East we discover new International designers and their take on our traditional Kaftan dress.

We have in the past seen plenty of brands try their luck with the kaftan to successful ends like Oscar De La Renta, Etro, etc..and sometimes turning them into unwearable disasters.

Rosetta Getty

We start with Rosetta Getty, a brand that uses only the finest fabrics to create uncomplicated modern pieces. Her clothes transition perfectly from day to night and have a very flattering color palette as well as soft tailoring. We love her long flow-y belted Kaftans in crepe de chine with a printed design in orange and blue.

Miguelina

Another designer that we like is Miguelina, a Dominican-born brand that designs pieces to carry you effortlessly and elegantly including soft lace kaftans like this white and yellow embroidered piece, perfect for Ramadan evenings if you close of the front with the strings in order the reduce the V-neck effect.

Su Paris

Last but not least is Su Paris; Su translates ‘water’ in Turkish so it’s fitting that Su Paris looks to the world’s remote shores to inspire its jet-set collections. The label combines chic Parisian style with Istanbul’s expert craftsmanship to create beautiful kaftans and tunics from the finest fabrics.

The hand- finished trims and artisanal techniques make each piece as unique as its owner.

We love their striped black and white kaftans and their bright mono-colored ones, perfect for a time to reflect on ones-self.
