3 Iconic Fashion Flops

We’ve all been there, either through rushing out the door or trying to be a little bit more adventurous than usual. Luckily for us, we’re not showing off our dubious outfit choices on the red carpet or to the hundreds of paparazzi that chase us around. So, the next time you get overcome with embarrassment when someone calls out those shoes or that shirt, spare a thought for those whose fashion flops are witnessed by millions and immortalized by articles like these years later. Here are a few unforgettable fashions faux pas that is less glam and more sham!

Lady Gaga, 2010 – Meat Dress

Nobody has forgotten this 2010 fashion disaster from our beloved Lady Gaga. Designed by Franc Fernandez, Gaga stated that to her the dress was symbolic of what would happen if we “don’t stand up for what we believe in”, saying that if we don’t “we’re going to have as many rights as the meat on our bones”. If you ask me though, it still wasn’t worth this (probably smelly!) horrible dress!

Björk, 2001 – Swan Dress

On the subject of red carpet notoriety, we’ve next come to Björk. We’ve come to expect something a bit…different…from Björk and, usually, we love it! However, her iconic Swan Dress from the 2001 Oscar’s was maybe just a little too much and it has sharply divided fashion opinion ever since. While some see it as a bold statement, Björk herself has always insisted that its “just a dress”. Others, though, saw it as 2001’s biggest fashion faux pas.

The inspiration for countless memes and even Halloween costumes, Kim K’s 2013 Met Gala dress certainly turned heads, and not for the reasons she’s used to.  The fashion faux pas was so controversial, Kim even felt the need to explain it on her show. Now, that’s what I call a bad day at the office.
