Kate Spade Announces Japanese Comedian As 2020 Global Ambassador

Kate Spade New York taps Japanese comedian, actress and fashion designer Naomi Watanabe as its global ambassador for 2020, continuing the brand’s celebration of diverse women living authentically stylish lives.  As the embodiment of confidence, joy and originality, Naomi’s passion for life is inclusive – she encourages women to express their individuality every day.

For those of you who DON’T know, NAOMI WATANABE, is a Japanese comedian, actress and fashion designer. She is best known for her imitation of Beyonce Knowles’ performing “Crazy in Love,“ after which she was given the title, “Japanese Beyonce.” Naomi impersonates popular artists worldwide, she has her own fashion line called Punyus. Naomi is set to play the role of Tracy Turnblad in the upcoming Hairspray musical, she has 9 million followers on Instagram.

The partnership will kick off for Spring 2020 with a digital handbag campaign, featuring a super fun video and a series of images we are sure will get you smiling.  The seasonal campaign highlights new styles in the brand’s popular Margaux handbag group, and captures the best of a season full of pragmatic and witty designs, color and a unique celebratory approach to living – all hallmarks of Kate Spade New York.
