As you know, here at The Modern East, we love all things Kardashian- Jenner, so we were super excited when Kim announced the relaunch of her new shapewear brand, under the new and less controversial name ‘Skims’.

The mother of 4 took to Instagram to write: “My fans and followers are a huge inspiration to me – I’m always listening to their feedback and opinions, and am so grateful they shared their ideas for a new brand name. After much thought and consideration, I’m excited to announce the launch of @SKIMS Solutionwear coming September 10.”

“I love the idea that the pieces will be the closest thing to someone’s skin, skimming with amazingly soft and supportive fabrics which accentuate the best parts of our bodies. The line consists of bikini briefs, thongs, bras, waist trainers, bodysuits, thermal leggings and more. The collection is available in sizes XXS to 5XL and in nine different tonal colours at launch, with even more shades and styles coming as the brand continues to grow.”

We are a huge fan of the new name and the launch campaign featuring an unlikely face.
In 2018 Kim helped free Alice Johnson from prison, and now the Skims Solutionwear creator recruited the great-grandmother to star in her shapewear brand’s debut campaign. To kick off SKIMS’ campaign featuring real women, KKW asked Johnson to star in a video as she modelled the black sculpting bodysuit. Over the coming weeks, more campaign videos will drop featuring 26 women sharing intimate stories about why they love their bodies, and how SKIMS enables them to feel their best.

In addition to Johnson, other women of varying ages, ethnicities, backgrounds and professions participated in the SKIMS campaign including Kim’s longtime bestie Allison Statter, author Arielle Estoria, entrepreneur Kristen Noel Crawley, Kim’s trainer Mel Alcantara, Muay Thai fighter Mia Kang, beauty YouTuber Teni Panosian and more.

Like all things Kardashian, we are sure Skims will be a hit with their many millions of fans (and us!)
