5 Binge Worthy Netflix Cooking Shows

In the recent years, we have seen a big rise in cooking shows! They went from being something that only your mom or grandma would love watching, to now being a subject of interest to all thanks to good old Netflix. Whether you’re into high stake cooking contests, documentary style shows highlighting the wonderful world of chefs, or even just a good old baking show – Netflix has something for everyone. So, if you have no plans for the weekend, and want to snuggle up in front of the couch with some entertainment – why not binge on one of these Netflix cooking shows and turn yourself into a chef of your own!

Ugly Delicious

This one is first on my list for a reason – it literally is my favorite Foodie documentary series out there. Staring the award-winning chef (and comedian in his own right) David Chang, this travelogue is one to watch if you’re into food, comedy and travel. Chang focuses each episode on a different type of food, then takes us on a cross cultural journey around the world to discover where to get the best eats. With guest appearances by Jimmy Kimmel, Nick Kroll, Peter Meehan and more – this series is a must watch for all.

Chef’s Table

This is another documentary style cooking series that is nothing short of beautiful. With a unique look at some of the worlds most renowned Chefs – their lives, their kitchens, and all the stories in between – Chefs Table has to be noted for its captivating and intimate style in which it is shot. More than just food, Chefs Table really gives you insights on how it is to live the life of a Chef. Another must watch on my list, especially if you’re into storytelling and biographical pieces.

Million Pound Menu

If your into reality TV, restaurant concepts and some healthy competition – then this one is for you! Million Pound Menu is a British reality TV series staring French celeb host Fred Sirieix that scouts some of London’s best food startups. These young foodies are looking to take their concept to the next level with the help of some of Britain’s most successful investors from the food industry. Think Dragons Den, in the world of restaurants! These young food-trepeneurs (and yes, that’s a real word 😝) have 3 days to prove their concepts to the star studded investors to see if any of the panel will move forward with scaling up their restaurants. Exciting, competitive, and delicious – this show is defs one to make the list!

Hell’s Kitchen

Godfather of all foodies, and OG of cooking contests – meet celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey, of course he had to make our list. I must admit that this was probably one of the first ever cooking shows that really got me hooked. In this intense competition we watch two teams of chef’s battle against each other in hopes of becoming the next Head Chef at a prestigious restaurant. What’s the best part of the show? Of course, it’s Gordon himself! The British celeb chef is mostly known for his potty mouth and intense character – that seriously makes for some great TV.

The Final Table

The last on the list – and also the most recently launched on Netflix, check out The Final Table. This culinary competition is made up of 24 of the best chefs from around the world, that pair up and battle against each other. In each episode they are challenged with preparing national dishes from around the world. From their take on a traditional English breakfast, a delicious Mexican taco or Italian pasta, the chef duos are judged by some of the world’s leading food critics, celebrities and fellow chefs. A team is eliminated in each episode until in the 10th and final episode where it’s every chef for himself. If you’re a total foodie who is into fine dining, this show is for you.
