If you’re a savory type of person than your favorite snack food is obviously chips! Yes, we’re all fans of Lays, Cheetos, Pringles, and Doritos – but, if you grew up in the UAE your nostalgia may kick in when it comes to chip cravings. From Salad Chips to Chips Oman – we absolutely love these chips that we all grew up eating in the UAE. Which one was your favorite?
Don’t deny it – you tried to convince yourself these chips were healthy because they had the word ‘Salad’ in the name. These light and crispy chips were to die for and if they were sold at your school canteen, we are definitely jealous!
Another beloved chip brand that we loved growing up in the UAE were Sohar Chips – these corn-based, lightly spiced chips were mouthwatering and definitely had you licking your fingers after you finished a pack of them.
Puffy Cheetos? No, we don’t know them – in the UAE we ate Emirates Pofaki! These puffy cylinder shapes chips were cheesy and delicious with our lunchbreak sandwiches – or even our afterschool snacks.
Did you love these chips for their flavor or for their little mascots on the different packets? From that cute little lion on the chili flavor to the tiger on the salted blue pack – we absolutely loved Safari Chips growing up in the UAE.
Mmm, Salty and Spicy! They’re called Chips Oman, but they were unquestionably one of the best chips that you could find in any UAE dukkan (supermarket), and they’re making a comeback! Nowadays you can even get a Chips Oman and cheese spread crepe, have this crunchy snack crushed up in a sandwich, and even added as a topping on mac n’ cheese!
