2019 Color Predictions

Every year, Pantone releases its color of the year. This is one of my favorite times of the year as it really dictates what is going to be trending for the upcoming year. From fashion, beauty, decor inspo – the color of the year helps guide us and inspire us to really get creative. Witnessing its applications into so many different forms really does amaze me – specifically when it comes to interior decor. As many of you probably know already, I am all about interior design. That said, the color of the year always plays into my design ideas and and inspo throughout the year.

So since 2019 is literally right around the corner, I thought it would be interesting to do some digging and find out what people are predicting for the 2019 color of the year. Do you have any predictions of your own?

Metropolitan AF-690

The first prediction is attributed to Benjamin Moore & Co. It is a cool, silvery gray; an adaptable and inspired alternative to traditional neutrals. This peaceful shade adds a sense of calm and order to our living rooms. When paired with navy, charcoal and metallics, it can transform bedrooms into soothing, elegant havens that aid relaxation.

The color is supported by a coordinating palette of 15 harmonious hues.  The tightly curated palette is comprised of a series of earthy tones with scattered pops of blues and moody neutrals.

Cavern Clay

The second prediction is by Sherwin-Williams. It is described as a ‘warm orange-y terracotta.’ It is carefree, simple, yet sophisticated. The good news is that it pairs well with everything: leather, woodgrains, balanced neutrals. It also pairs well with brighter tiles, blues, greens, and whites. Needless to say, it is incredibly versatile, cozy, and sophisticated no matter what furniture and decor it complements.
