For the non-Arabic reader, it is nearly impossible to get a good feel of the font and decipher which font is modern, unique, fun and you may end up picking the weirdest one that will actually make the reading extremely complicated… Or even worst: the most boring one ever, and nobody wants your brand to be boring!
Despite being the 5th most spoken language in the world with 422 million Arabic speakers, there isn’t a great multitude of web fonts in Arabic available online. These fonts are your go-to safe ones. They are the default ones on email, word, websites etc. There are actually two types of Arabic writing fonts, and both are taught when you learn Arabic: the Naskh which is very clear to read, and the Roqa which is more of a handwritten style and often the one grown-ups will end up picking when they write, as it is much faster to write and more fluid.
These are more suitable for branding, a clear minimalist or even an innovative kind of brand or design. You will see sharper lines and pixel-inspired letters.
