Discover Filles a PAPA

If you have a crush on western boots and eclectic style you might have caught a glimpse of the Filles a PAPA advertising going around Instagram that features the double fold boots in white, blue and red leather making sure they catch your attention.

Filles a PAPA is the brainchild of Carol and Sarah Piron as they were among the first to seize upon and translate the neo 90s through hybridizations of styles. At Filles a PAPA, the lumberjack’s shirt is often close to a fully sequined dress, more “glunge” than grunge. Denim is inflamed with patches, sequins and slogans. Male-inspired tailoring becomes sexy, pink is not only girly (thankfully!) and black never sad. Filles a PAPA plays on paradoxes, the humor and the assertion of a candid femininity. The designers love creating glamourous tomboy pieces be it in their ready-to-wear, shoes or jewelry.

Their thing? glue and assemble fashion codes that are completely different, put together references that are opposed and do a remix of information in order to create a new, nuanced, complexed piece.

Their inspiration rarely relies on the fashion worlds, they are more into movies, karaoke, car races etc.… what talks to them is the Californian streetwear and all its subcultures as well as intuition that has allowed them season after season to gather fans around the world.

It’s a brand that you will either love or hate, no in between; It is definitely a conversation started with their slogans and fashion statements that will leave you with a definite opinion and an array of ways to style that particular garment.
