2021 Hair Trends

After the year of an anything-goes approach to haircuts internationally (we’re looking at you again, lockdowns), 2021 is the year to get your hair back on-trend.  Here are some of the hair trends that you’re likely to see (and maybe even try out) in 2021:

Bold Colours

With all of the hair experimentation that went down in 2020, we’ve all been getting a little bolder with what we have been willing to try out with our hair. It should be no surprise then that bold colors are back in and here to stay for 2021. And if you’re lucky, those bold choices may pay off in the longer term, washing out into completely unexpected – but equally cool – shades.

The Bob

Truly a style that has withstood the test of time and that works well with most hair types, stylists are predicting that the classic bob look will be going strong in 2021. That’s not to say that there will be one look, rather, you should tailor the look to work for you! So whether it’s inverted, graduated, reversed, asymmetric, or layered (we could be here all day) bob, you’ll definitely be on-trend in 2021!

Curtain Bangs

Although this classic 70s look has been back in trend for a little while now, there are still plenty of people yet to catch up and try it out. Usually a style for longer hair, curtain bangs are simply bangs that are parted from the middle to frame your face on each side. Although bangs are not usually for those who are looking for a low-maintenance look, curtain bangs are certainly a lot more manageable than shorter styles like baby bangs. So, if you haven’t called on your 70s cool-girl vibe yet, 2021 is definitely the year to try it out.

Mullet

If you are feeling particularly fashion-forward (and very, very brave) then you could try one of the many new styles of mullet that have came into trend. From Rihanna and Miley Cyrus to Billie Eilish, there’s no shortage of celebs reclaiming this vintage style. If you want to be truly bold, maybe a mullet is for you in 2021.
