The Soap Brow Trend Take Over

We, at The Modern East, love when our brows are on fleek – but what does that even mean anymore? Eyebrow trends have changed drastically throughout the decades. With the rise of social media and makeup becoming an art form and creative outlet, it is no surprise that not only are people experimenting with their makeup, but with their brows too! Through this comes some uniqueness and we love it! For today’s beauty feature, we are focusing on none other than soap brows. Over the past year the soap brow trend has taken over the brow-game – so much so, prominent brands in the makeup industry are even creating products to substitute for the soap! Keep reading to learn all about the trend, some awesome products, and just how to achieve the look!

What Are Soap Brows?

While some use the phrase to describe the brow look in itself, “soap brows” actually refers to a specific eyebrow grooming method. It’s exactly what it sounds like: using bar soap instead of a pencil, gel, eyeshadow, or other makeup products typically used to fill in brows. The soap allows you to mold the brows however you please, whether you’re looking to cover up any sparse gaps or fluff them upward for a feathery, brushed-up look. Think of it as the middle ground between a strong-hold brow gel and a brow lamination treatment!

While the trick has been re-popularized by beauty bloggers quite recently, it’s actually a classic makeup artist and drag queen technique that’s been used on photo shoots for years.

What Products Should You Use?

Typically, the soap brow trend is achieved using, well… you guessed it, soap! Although, it does not work with any type of soap. It is recommended to use a translucent-based soap so that once it is applied to your eyebrows it is clear and no residue comes off onto your brows during the application.

Although, since the trend’s take off several brands have created products to achieve the look! Here are some of our favorites:

  1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Styling Wax
  2. West Barn Co. Soap Brows
  3. BPerfect Indestructi Brow
  4. ICONIC London Brow Silk

How to Achieve the Look

The soap brow look is actually a lot easier to achieve than you think! In fact, there are only three steps to the process, and you’ve got it down. Here’s what to do:

  1. Wet your spoolie
  2. Scrape it against your bar of soap to pick up the product
  3. Shape your brows

Yup, that’s it! Have you tried the soap brow trend yet?
