We’ve rarely met a dessert we didn’t like. As if cake wasn’t already yummy enough, lava cakes provide this warm, gooey goodness that is really hard to beat. Hitting the center and watching the filling pool out onto the plate is nearly a religious experience for a dessert lover. As delicious as they are, they are also super easy to make. Since they are smaller in size than your typical cake, they are also much faster to bake. You’re also gonna need some ramekins, so if you don’t already have some on hand, run out and get some! Go ahead, we’ll wait. But first, let us tempt you.
What’s better than your typical chocolate lava cake? Nutella lava cake of course. This one from Mealz food blog is a winner. It’s suggested to top with berries and powdered sugar, but we say why not add a sinful scoop of vanilla bean ice cream to play against the warm cake.

Lemon brings such a bright burst of flavor to foods, and this lava cake pairs a deliciously light lemon sponge with a lemon curd that has just the right amount of tart. It’s a nice departure from your typical chocolate version. The recipe does call for a piping bag, but if you don’t have one, simply snip a small hole in a corner of a ziplock bag and voila!

Jenns Blah Blah Blog seeks to tempt you with this decadent offering. If you’re any kind of peanut butter fan, this has absolutely got to go on your “to make” list. Even though these cakes make an excellent single-serving dessert, you might be hard pressed not to eat all of them in a single sitting.

These pretty in pink little cakes can be found at Hey Theresia blog. Not only are they packed with a taste bud tickling strawberry flavor and filled with a sweet strawberry puree, but they’re also made using white chocolate. These would make an excellent alternative if you are having dinner company who isn’t (*gasp*) a fan of regular chocolate.
