A Taste Of Melbourne

A metropolis so diverse calls for a rich selection of pristine quality food. Melbourne has definitely made its mark in the cuisine industry, creating a unique dining experience carried out internationally as Australian cafes – a cooking style that features a mashup for healthy, natural and luxurious food all in one. Not only does the presentation of each dish feed our appetite but also that of Instagram. Many cities have adopted this concept to their lifestyle, adding color and flavor at the start of the day. Here are a few cafes that we recommend you try in Melbourne.

Fourth Chapter, Prahran

This area is filled with boutique shops, hip cafes and stylish bars. As you come across Fourth Chapter the first thing you’ll want to do is update your Instagram feed with a picture of you right outside the infamous vintage white door plastered onto an all glass facade. As you walk in, head to the back where you’ll find a small outdoor seating area perfect for a more intimate setting. Try their famous acai bowl that will make you come back for more!

Alimentari, Brunswick

Brunswick is an area of Melbourne that is full of surprises. Some of the top cafes and restaurants are found in this area. Alimentari (Italian for good food and camaraderie) is everything it stands for. A great selection of homemade salads and sandwiches and a delightful atmosphere bringing friends and family together. Make sure you try their signature dish the sweetcorn fritters with ricotta guacamole.

It’s not hard to find vegetarian or vegan options around this city but if you were looking to try out vegan bacon and eggs, this is the place to go. Situated by the beach, it’s a great cafe to start your day and maybe follow it up with a walk along the beach if you’re lucky with the weather.

La Lune, Fitzroy

Voted as the best croissants in the world, this is a must-see in Melbourne. Limited options but that usually means they focus on quality over quantity. A cup of coffee and a croissant to start your day. What better way? You’ll most likely find residents, as well as tourists, line up outside this famous shop but service is quick and you’ll be biting into a crunchy, fluffy cloud in no time.

Top Paddock, Richmond

A big space with both indoor and outdoor seating, a hip cafe with the essentials of what makes an Australian cafe earn its name. The menu is inventive and playful and the presentation is awesome. A must try would be their blueberry and ricotta hotcake (one very thick and fluffy pancake) topped with double cream and drizzled in maple syrup. Try saying no to that.
