While there is certainly no shortage of casual and upscale options, we’ve assembled a list that caters to the casual side. Because who doesn’t love walking right off the beach to some fabulous food without having to go home to change first?
Located in a building that strongly resembles a lobster trap, Retro Feast serves up food with a British/American flare that caters to nostalgia. The décor at this beach-side gem is playful and kitsch, and the menu ranges from pancakes for breakfast, to burgers, to refreshing salads and juices to cool you down after all that sunbathing. Sharing is caring and there is even a platter for just that which assembles a little bit of everything in case you can’t make up your mind.

Just steps from the public beach of Jumeirah, navigate your way through the throngs of surfers and hit up this spot for some great eats and perk yourself up with a good cup of coffee. Billing itself as “casual dining with a 5-star touch”, the menu here is seriously eclectic. Breakfast, acai berry bowls, and dessert are served all day long. Sushi, lunch and dinner start at noon. The cuisine here is truly a little bit of everything, with Mediterranean, Chinese, Japanese, American, Mexican cuisines, all getting some love. It may be casual, but the menu has a staggering number of options for a beach-side restaurant!

Feel like some pizza? That’s a stupid question, of course, you do! Then walk your sand-covered little feet over to La Veranda at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. If you haven’t gotten enough of those ocean-breezes yet for the day, sit al fresco and have yourself a slice. There are other Italian style dishes on the menu as well and portions are *large*. This place is popular, so you might wanna call ahead before you’re ready to call it a day.

The devout Bu Qtair goers speak of it in hushed. reverent whispers in underground clandestine gatherings! Okay, maybe we’re going a bit far, but this place does have a pretty dedicated following. People lose their minds over how delicious the fish is here, and it doesn’t hurt that this place is cheap! The main draw is the fresh catch of the day, which is then slathered in Indian spices and fried or grilled and served with sides. It’s definitely time to check out what the fuss is about if you’re not already one of the faithful.

Breakfast is served all day here, so if you’ve got a sudden craving for avocado toast even after the sun goes down, you’re in luck!
