Dubai Design District (also known as D3 more commonly) – is a hub for the designers, artists and creative thinkers in Dubai, and is also becoming the new IT spot for a bite to eat. Located right behind Dubai’s Downtown area, Dubai Design District is the perfect place to head to over the weekend for something to eat, and a nice walk around to visit their fashion concept stores, chic galleries, and the showrooms of our regions up and coming designers.

Luckily the home of The Modern East is right here in the Dubai Design District, so we often trek out and try all of the new spots for some grub. (and yes, we do this solely for the purpose of research :P)

Today we set out to find our top breakfasts spots. Trust us when we say this was not easy! Almost all of the restaurants here in Dubai Design District have amazing breakfast menus. 1. The Kitchen

Although The Kitchen is a great spot for lunch – we had to credit it for its breakfast because of it’s wood fire oven that bakes fresh manakeesh made to order. Another perk? The early bird special! 20 AED for a coffee and a fresh manakeesh or a croissant! YUM.

2. Home Bakery Kitchen

Home of the Chewy Melt cookie that has taken our world by storm – Home Bakery in Galleria Mall quickly became the IT spot for any sweet tooth. So it was the best news ever when we saw the sign pop up in D3 for the Home Bakery kitchen. Unlike the original spot, this one not only serves coffee and sweet bites but also has a full menu of breakfast and lunch items. Our fave? The avocado on toast, shakshuka, cornflakes French toast and the Iced Spanish Latté.

3. L’Arte

More into a taste of Italy? The L’Arte is your spot! A great place for an espresso and a croissant or muffin on the side, with a really cool vibe. Our faves? The Nutella muffin and the delicious Italian coffee.
