#Recipe: Karak-misu

I’m not much of a tea drinker, but let’s face it, Karak chai doesn’t live in the realm of ordinary tea. Its warm mix of spices and layers of flavors to satisfy every time. Now add that to desserts and we have a winner! In one of our episodes of Local Faves 4 Ways, Athina goes for a scrumptious tiramisu, with a twist. Or should we say – a karak-misu! Check out these simple steps she used to create this Karak Tiramisu that is perfect for you to bring to any dinner party. Your friends will thank us later.

Ingredients:

225 ml Whipping Cream

225 g Mascarpone Cheese

71 g Caster Sugar

450ml Karak Tea (extra strong, at room temperature)

1 pack Lady Finger Biscuits

Cocoa Powder + Ground Cinnamon for dusting

Steps:

1) Using an electric whisk (or stand mixer with whisk attachment), beat the sugar and whipping cream on high speed until it thickens. Then whisk in the Mascarpone cheese for about 1 minute and set aside.

2) Time to layer this baby. One by one, soak each lady finger biscuit in the Karak tea and place in a dish. Cover the base of the dish with soaked biscuits to create the first layer. Next, spread half of the cream mixture over the biscuits. Repeat to create two complete layers.

3) Dust with a mix of cocoa powder and cinnamon. Set in the fridge for 1-2 hours before cancelling with your personal trainer and digging in.
