If you’re looking to organize your trip both in terms of memories and activities, check out Evernote! It has the possibility to create folders specifically for travel using preexisting templates, and give you the possibility to check out other people’s posts for the destination you’re visiting, and create your very own travel diary.

Google Keep also provides much of the same features as Evernote, except you can even set reminders for what to pack, create a packing sit or even comment on other people travel diaries!

To Protect Your Data

Free WiFi calls from public spaces like airports and cafes aren’t considered exactly safe in terms of protecting your personal details. Anyone can get their hands on information you really don’t want them to have. To prevent this, download an app that hides your browsing activity as well as other sensitive information like passwords when you travel. A VPN will usually do the trick.

For Personal Safety

Data protection is important, but protecting your person is even more so. Download some apps that allow you to share your location with family and friends in case you were to start feeling unsafe. This is also a good idea if you suffer from any medical condition where you might need to alert someone instantly for help. Consider Medical ID (android) or Health (iOS) to do just this.

Backup and Storage

Travelling means you’ll be taking a lot of pictures, more like a ton of pictures. Take extra steps to make sure you have enough space on your phone by using the apps already available on your phone. For Apple devices that’s iCloud, which has an available 5BG of storage for free and an increasing number if you pay a small monthly fee.

For the Android users out there, Google Drive is your friend. You get to store an unlimited amount of pictures and videos as long as you give google permission to compress any files over 16 MegaPixels.

Another option you have is Amazon drive, Prime members get unlimited storage for images as well as 5GB for videos with extra possibilities being available for a fee of course.

For Activities and Tickets

Make sure to get the app Meetup on your phone to be up to date with all the happenings where you’re going. Another app Eventbrite is also perfect for helping you find festivals and concerts when you travel all over the world. For actual purchasing of tickets, keep Ticketmaster handy – you can save tickets and sue them directly from the app!
