If you’ve been keeping up with us, you’d know that our girl boss of the month is none other than Emiliya Ninova – AKA Foxxy! Foxxy is a 31-year-old, Dubai-based, Bulgarian influencer and founder of Keto by Foxy, The Keto Fix, The Meal plans, and Co-Founder of Beit el Keto. On top of that, she is an MUA too! Sounds like the definition of a girl boss, right? For today’s feature, we interviewed Foxxy about her experience and involvement as an influencer in the beauty community and her passion for makeup artistry. Foxxy, being the bursting ball of positivity, creativity, and talent that she is, finds inspiration in all types of arts, but, to her, there is something even more special about makeup. “You create art when at the same time you make yourself feel more confident, more empowered, more beautiful,” she tells us, “And as nobody needs makeup to be beautiful (all God’s creatures are absolutely beautiful) makeup just gives you that extra feeling, which is impossible to not love and enjoy,” she adds.
“Beauty and Makeup is a huge part of me,” Foxxy says, “My love for makeup goes way back to 2010 when I traveled across Europe all the way to Paris, to study makeup in my dream makeup school. Eventually right after I graduated, my career at that time, kept me pretty busy, so I was never really able to focus on makeup the way I wanted.” With Foxxy’s mind solely focussed on career-driven opportunities, she slowly let her passion for makeup slip away for some time until the realization of where her passion truly lies finally hit her.
Foxxy tells us that focusing on her hobbies and passions significantly impacts her wellbeing because it is in her nature to create! “I find it super important to fill your free time with doing the things you love, so you can keep your body, mind, and soul in sync. With the pandemic, so many things changed in one year, and It truly was such an important year for my self-growth and in a personal aspect, and it made a huge impact on my life in terms of slowing down on my work and focusing on my passions.”

A lot of us were pretty bored during the global lockdown with minimal things to do. Foxxy, being the girl boss that she is, took this time to slow down with “real world” work and work on her makeup artistry while venturing out into the world of social media as a platform to showcase this. Solely using her social media platforms for her Keto Brands and personal blog prior to the pandemic, this was a new project that Foxxy took on board and – fun fact: she did not intend for the turnout! Joining – and getting addicted to – TikTok (as we all do), Foxxy was inspired by the youngsters using the app to express themselves with makeup – a passion Foxxy holds close to her heart since her teenage years.
“I started spending hours on my creative looks and sharing them on TikTok and people started noticing my progress day by day,” Foxxy tells us, “Of course, I had to start sharing my creations on my other socials like Instagram, which got an amazing and unexpected response and I just kept it coming! Nowadays if I go too long without posting makeup-related content people start messaging me and requesting more, so it became a huge part of my online presence.”

With times and society progressing, we are looking towards a brighter future in terms of inclusivity in several industries. We often hear about the diversity in the fashion world, and thanks to artists and influencers such as Foxxy herself, we have hope for inclusivity to become a part of the beauty industry too! “My style of beauty is every BODY, every SIZE, every COLOR,” she says with pride, “I want to aspire to inspire more women to love themselves the way they are and to be confident in their own skin.”
Foxxy opens up and tells us how people often comment on her confidence and how it is inspiring to see a plus-sized woman do her thing in the beauty industry but admits that she was not always this way. “The past few years I’ve been mindfully working on my self-love and my whole life changed ever since. Loving yourself even changes the way others view you.”
Foxxy strives to create a positive and judgment-free space on her social media platforms. A space where every woman can be anything that they want to be whilst feeling loved, welcomed, as well as empowered. “This is why wearing makeup doesn’t make you insecure and if it makes you happy and if it boosts your confidence, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you don’t love yourself! Not at all!” she says, “You might be just doing it out of passion for makeup – like me, so just do it! Do anything that makes you happy because Happy woman = Beautiful woman!”

With a rapidly growing online presence and influence, there is no doubt that Foxxy has made a great impact – not only on others but also on herself! “I got to connect with so many gorgeous women in the community, who are like-minded and have them turn into true friends and family, from whom I keep learning and getting inspired, each and every day,” she tells us.
Hard work and determination truly do pay off, and Foxxy is definitely experiencing this firsthand – and, well-deserved at that! “I am so humbled and grateful for so many online collaborations and features,” she says. From brands like Huda Beauty, Sephora Middle East, Bobbi Brown, Catrice and more, recognizing Foxxy’s skills, work, and content, her future only looks brighter in the beauty industry from here on out.
The power of influence. It really is one of the strongest forces nowadays, especially when in the right hands. “Seeing people being influenced by me for better is 100% the biggest achievement, and all I want, and I am grateful for each and every day!”
