Multi-Purpose Makeup Hacks

I know you’ve probably read a million of these articles looking for ways to get the most out of your makeup products, I know I have! I am a huge believer in using your products, whether they be for makeup or otherwise, in multiple ways. Not only do you get a bang for your buck you are also contributing to sustainability by consuming less and ultimately producing less waste!

Lipstick

Probably the simplest and most commonly known hack is using your lipstick as blush, but I like to take it a step further with using my lipstick as eyeshadow. No matter the consistency, creamy or liquid, or the shade you can always use your lipstick as an eyeshadow! It makes for an eyeshadow look that could last all day and if you’re in a hurry you can use your lipstick as a one-man show for a stunning makeup look! Matching your eyeshadow with your lips can be a bit intimidating but the results are guaranteed to be a show stopper!

Coconut oil

This is my favorite hack for when your skin (and hair!) need a little TLC. You can use coconut oil to remove even the most waterproof of makeup. I personally like to use it to remove all of my makeup, starting with my eyes and working to the rest of my face. After I wash off the coconut oil, one simply cleanse using your face wash and your skin will be squeaky clean! Already have a makeup remover? Then why not try coconut oil as a deep conditioning hair treatment? Apply it to your palms and massage through your hair for locks that are healthy and shiny! Coconut oil is one of the few oils that can penetrate your hair shaft to soften it up and give it the nutrients it needs!

No Highlighter, no problem!

I once received a single eyeshadow pan as a part of a gift basket and I never had much use for it until I was going on a trip to Beirut and could only pack a few makeup products. I threw the single pan eyeshadow in my makeup bag along with my bronzer which I was going to use as eyeshadow to darken up my crease (hey another makeup hack!) and jetted off! Then my worse nightmare occurred. As I was finishing up my makeup look for my night out I realized I had forgotten my highlighter, *gasp* I know! I picked up my single pan eyeshadow (gold btw) and applied it as a highlighter. Never had I received so many compliments before! It was truly blinding. Since then this one eyeshadow has been the way to go when I’m creating a dramatic makeup look!

Vasaline

Not a regular in most regular makeup bags but definitely a staple in mine! Every seen all the glossy eyeshadow looks that are oh so trendy right now? This is the way to get them! After you’re done with your makeup apply the smallest bit of Vaseline to your eyelids to get the insta look! Not a fan of the glossy look? Use keep Vasaline handy for applying on your pressure points before spraying your perfume to make your scent last all night! For a little extra out of this product, apply a small amount to seal in your split ends to make sure your makeup and hair are on point!
