Who is Brittany Xavier you might be wondering? Los Angeles based Brittany Xavier launched her blog, Thrifts and Threads, around 5 years ago when she was getting a little tired of her Marketing Executive day job. Deciding to follow her passion for fashion, what started as a nighttime hobby, Brittany began documenting her life and love for fashion. Today, Xavier has 1.1 million followers on Instagram, over 5,000 subscribers on YouTube, and collabs with luxury brands like Cartier, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and YSL.
While always remaining a bit daring, Brittany mixes high-end brands with an edgier style. The Modern East is about to take you through 10 of our favorite statement looks from Brittany Xavier. Let us know what you think… Style hit or overrated?

We are kicking it off with an ensemble by none other than Balmain. Here Brittany fearlessly rocks a bold, gold & black, diamond patterned 3-piece suite, made up of tapered pants, bustier and blazer with an exaggerated shoulder. #balmainarmy
With one pieces making a major comeback, we are loving this metallic, icey blue jumpsuit. Synched at the waist and decorated with zippers and pockets, Xavier stunts in the piece by Brazilian label Rosa Cha.
With retro being one of our favorite feels, here at The Modern East we can never get enough of an exaggerated shoulder. With an ode to the 70’s, here Brittany Xavier is seen in a red & black polka dot mini dress and cat eye sunnies… All we gotta say is MEOW!

Brittany is seen here in a monochrome green look by Solance London. A name we have started to see a lot of, Solance is a British womenswear label that continuously blurs the line between statement making and wearability.

With what is seen to be quite a common streetwear looks these days, Brittany always manages to make her outfits look extra. Wearing a blend of neutrals, Ms Brittany Xavier pairs a cropped, structured Teddy coat with a high waisted, tanned, dad jeans from Reformation. Accessorizing with yellow tinted shades and topping it all off with a scrunchy, she looks so currently vintage.

As we mentioned in some of our earlier articles, neon is no where near going out of style. While this was a trend we were on the fence about, neon is here to stay but with a much more fashion approach. Brittany rocks a neon green turtle neck but chooses to pair it with an ultra-chic purple blouse and light grey dress pants. This is how you do neon, ladies and gentlemen!
Here, we see Brittany in an all denim ensemble by Tokyo native designer, Adeam. Inspired by her two hometowns, Tokyo and New York, Adeam design’s create pieces that infuse art and wearability.

We love this extra glam look by none other than Mr. Marc Jacobs, master of mixing vintage with modern glam.

While we are not used to seeing Xavier in shorter hem lines and lower necks, we are loving this crushed velvet little number by LA’s fave label, For Love & For Lemons! Perfect for weekends spent roaming around the city, in an outfit that can easily take you from day to night.
It is no new news to us that Brittany is part of the Balmain army, often seen rocking Olivier’s looks on her feed. Here we see an absolutely amped up evening look that will make all heads turn!
