Water Flavoured Recipes

It is hot these days! We all know it! Cold water is our new best friend, but it can get boring. When scrolling down Instagram I always see these gorgeous flavoured water infographics and pictures, but I never actually take a time to read properly. Well, guess what? This time, I did, and I want to share.

1. Basic principles

There are a couple of components to take into account to make your flavoured water a success. First of all: flavour pairing. Making a good mix is not as easy as it may seem. There are thousands of resources online and books actually on what ingredient goes well with what. Secondly, flavoured water is best consumed between 2 and 4 hours after adding the different ingredients. Finally, keep your infused water in the fridge if possible. Believe me, the look of your lemon infused water after a few hours at room temperature could put you off for the rest of your life.

2. Recipes

-The Stomach soothing mix. Not only does it tastes great but flavoured water can give you a little health boost. For a tropical taste that is easy on the stomach, go for Pineapple, Ginger and a few leaves of mint.

The veggie version

Not everyone needs a sugary taste. If you are more into the taste of a good caprese salad, try this one. Tomato slices and basil leaves will do the trick perfectly.

Ditch the ice cubes

Instead of adding ice cubes, give a try to adding frozen berries. Blueberries, raspberries and strawberries work like charm.

Herbs please

Mint, rosemary, basil, they are all good to add to your water. If you are looking for something a bit more unique, try a mix of lemon and lavender. If you are not convinced, please just see how good this looks.

Upgraded Ice Cubes

Finally, one other easy way to get your flavoured water if you prefer to plan is to work on ice cubes. Just add a piece of fruit or leaves to your ice cube.
