A Touch of Festive at Home

Every December we decorate our homes, wishing to give both ourselves and our loved ones a feeling that the festive season has arrived. Here are a few tricks to help get that special “holiday feeling” and make everything in your house look fit for the festive season without having to break the bank.

You could go with the obvious solution of buying a Christmas tree! Real trees are available at Ace Hardware, Dubai Garden Center and Spinneys, or you can find artificial ones at Ikea, Carrefour or Home Center. Then of course you could go ahead and decorate the tree full of Christmas ornaments – my favorite is always a white and silver color palette. (I’m a big fan of Maison du Monde’s ornament collection this year.)

BUT if you live in a small apartment like me and have absolutely no storage space to keep all these decorations throughout the rest of the year, here are some other ways to keep your apartment feeling festive AF:

A Christmas Corner

Make space in one part of the house, it could be the table in the entryway or the TV table for example… All you need are 3 mini Christmas trees of different sizes, transparent vases filled with pine cones and a red wreath. It’s simple, clean and easy to reproduce.

All of these items are available at Crate and Barrel (they even have a 3 for 2 holiday offer at the moment!)

Candles

It can be as simple as getting some white and red candles into your transparent candle holders:

Or you could take it a step further and create a festive candle corner with a mix of white and grey color palette, a tree shaped candle and a modern lit star accessory (available at Maison du Monde)

Oh and Ikea is on up to 30% off on selected items of their festive collection – make sure to check it out for some random accessories to add all over the house, check it out here.
