The Bali Bible Part 1 – Eat Pray Love

Just landed in Bali and you’re completely overwhelmed about where to graze, stay hydrated and bust out your dance moves? Follow my guide to avoid disappointment.

If you’re like me, before even taking off you start researching for the hot spots to eat at. I can say that all of these spots have been tried and tested so are foolproof. I’ve even broken
them down by area so you can walk off the plane with your list of local haunts ready to go!

My favorite saying is ‘calories on holiday don’t count’, so time to indulge in some serious foodie heaven:

Discovering Uluwatu

The Bali Bible Uluwatu

Single Fin – beach bar food and sunset drinks, but get there early as sunset is packed at this place
Ulu Cliffhouse and Restaurant – something a little more posh with beautiful décor, upbeat vibes, delish food and drinks
Sunset Bar at Alila Villas – romantic and picturesque, incredible food and unique photo ops
Blue Heaven Bali – insane views and little less party than the first two

Staying in Seminyak

The Bali Bible Seminyak

Motel Mexicola – as you can probably imagine, they serve bangin’ Mexican food, but make sure you stick around because the party really starts here
Sarong – traditional and beautifully presented Indonesian food. If you’re wanting to try the local cuisine, this is the spot to do it at
Mamasan – another beautiful Indonesian food spot definitely worth trying, it’s an institution so perfect for date night
Mozaic – romantic with impeccable service. Try the tasting menu which includes some local ingredients fused into the dishes.

As an Aussie, we take our coffee pretty seriously if you’re like me and coffee is more on your level add these to your plans:

Exploring Seminyak

Revolver – like a cool tattoo parlour crossed with Mexican bike gang they serve outrageously good coffees and brekkies (breakfast in Australian slang)
Sisterfield’s – just up the road from Revolver, you’ll find this packed café. Another great spot for your caffeine fix.
Titik Temu – a locally inspired design who served a great cup of Joe. We got some iced coffees to go as we wandered around the streets of Seminyak

Tripping in Uluwatu

Bali Bible Uluwatu

BGS Bali – a cracking little café cum surf shop, restaurants and cafes are all on the main street in Uluwatu and this one is in prime position
Tarabelle Donuts – if donuts and coffee in the morning suit your routine a little better, the team here serve up some delicious treats
Suka Espresso – this open air café might suit is great for people watching, pair it with an acai bowl for a true holiday feel!

Or if you’re missing Zero Gravity too much, squeeze in a visit to these beaut beach clubs:

Uncovering Uluwatu

Sunday’s Beach Club – have a little nosy at their Instagram and you’ll know instantly this is where you want to be. Take a cable car down from the luxury villas to the beach, where
you play all day on the pristine beaches
One Eighty – being lofty more your style? Stay high and pop into this beach club for the day. Their pool extends over the cliff so you’ll feel like you’re floating above the rolling
waves.

Wandering Seminyak

Mrs. Sippy – a play on words and definitely not like Mississippi, this has a retro glam pool feeling to it with diving boards, cabanas and lounges leisurely bobbing in the pool(s)
Potato Head – if you’ve ever had a friend visit Bali, they’ve probably been here. Potato Head is an institution, and for good reason. Good tunes, great atmosphere, cool interior
and tasty drinks. Here you’ll rub shoulders with some fellow fun worshippers.
Ku De Ta – this place is a little gem over sunset. Make sure you get there early enough to secure a spot near the beach to watch the sun melt away after another day in paradise
Finn’s (Canggu) – home to a famous surf break an infinity pool and swim up bar. You’ll be sipping on coconuts all day as you watch the sets roll in.
