One of the most famous ski resorts in the country is St Anton, located in one of the snowiest areas of the Alpes. Surrounding the resort is 200km of beautiful slopes, as well as 55km2 of harder tracks for the adventure lovers.

If a lively nightlife is what you’re seeking, you can head out to Ischgl – where the post-skiing life is just as exciting as the activity itself.

France

France holds a special place in ski-lovers’ hearts and remains one of the most visited ski destinations in Europe. The country boasts a wide range of resorts and spectacular snowy mountains such as in the area of Chamonix.

Being the location where the first Winter Olympics were held in 1924, Chamonix is the go-to spot for ski professionals perfecting their craft. However, that doesn’t mean that beginners can’t head there too!

For an impromptu off-season trip, try out Les Deux Alpes resort.  A notorious destination worldwide, the snow stays around there for long periods throughout the year!

Italy

While Italy is undoubtedly most famous for its coastal cities, architecture, and art – the Italians are also lucky enough to possess fantastic ski destinations. The best known of them in Cervinia, providing skiers 360km of slopes right on the border of Zermatt in Switzerland – while the Italian ski experience is comparatively much cheaper!

If you’re confident in your ski skills, head over to Alagna Valsesia for an exciting adventure. While Sauze d’Oulx is an ideal destination for all levels. Of course, we can’t forget to mention Cortina d’Ampezzo, the ultimate relaxation destination as a result of its gorgeous mountain views.

Switzerland

With their varied landscapes, the Swiss Alpes continue to be one of the most attractive ski destinations in the world. Zermatt and Matterhorn are often considered to be the most famous destinations in the country. Unlike any other worldwide, resorts in Switzerland are more luxurious and unique than their international counterparts.

Andorra

For the full-on skiing beginners, the place to go is Andorra in the heart of the Pyrenees Mountains. Although a little-known destination, Andorra houses some of the best ski schools around, using the highest technologies in their facilities.

While Soldeu is the most well-known resort in the area, there are definitely other locations that are worth exploring!

The less crowded slopes of Andorra make it ideal for those who are just starting their skiing education and are surely less intimidating than Alpes destinations.

Happy Skiing!
