Travel Tips: What You Need In Paris

1. Your Fashion Game

Paris is your opportunity to show off your fanciest outfits! As one of the fashion capitals of the world, everyone in the city always sports an effortless elegance – simple yet perfectly put together and fabulous.

2. Do Your Research

As much as Paris is an amazing place to wander on foot and see what you stumble upon, there’s simply SO much to do that you should decide in advance what you want to see and where you want to go. If you’re looking for an adventure, then instead of deciding on specific places to visit, pick an arrondissement or two per day and explore it fully!

3. Phone Memory/Storage

There’s nothing worse than taking out your phone to take a picture and getting the godforsaken message of “you have no more storage”… Don’t let that happen to you. Trust, me you’ll want to take a TON of pictures in Paris, so clear up that phone!

4. A Closeable Bag

Paris is wonderful and everything but with millions of tourists visiting every year, pick pocketing is rampant. Do what you can to avoid this by keeping your belongings close and sealed, because having something important stolen will totally be a dark cloud over your holiday.

5. Some French

A few words of French like ‘Bonjour, Merci, S’il vous plait, Ou est le/la…” will go a long way. You will often get responded to in English by the locals if they notice you don’t speak French but it’s always a nice touch to show them you’re trying!

6. Book Early

If you want to do something extra special, like for example have dinner at an exclusive restaurant or attend an event, book those tickets early! Such in-demand places will usually have a waiting list so prepare in advance to do exactly what you want.

7. If You’re a Student

You’ll be SO grateful if you take your student card/ID! Hello discounts everywhere, free museum and exhibition tickets, and so many other perks. Before you go check out online the cool deals students get around the city.

8. Comfy Shoes

Paris is a lot of walking, trust me. As fashionable as you want to be, don’t torture your feet and please take some sneakers with you!

9. Winter Essentials

If you’re visiting in the winter months, beware because Paris gets COLD. Like, really cold. A scarf, gloves, and a proper coat will be absolutely essential and help you enjoy your holiday as much as possible.

10. SOME cash

A lot of places will only accept a bank card starting from a certain amount, and if you want to pick up something cute from a street vendor or a tiny shop, they might not accept cards at all. So keep a few euros handy just in case.
