5 Essential Skincare Steps

Taking care of your skin should be at the top of your priority list when it comes to all things beauty! Check out our 5 steps that are essential to good skin.

As we skid towards some lofty double digits, the aging panic is real and a few of my friends have been asking me just what steps they actually need to include in their daily routine. I guess it’s now becoming all too relevant as we desperately try and hold onto our flawless youthful skin as long as we can. I figured if they are all asking me there must be a bunch of people out there wondering exactly the same thing… so here’s what I told them:

Cleanse 

Always take your makeup off at the end of every day. Avoid makeup wipes wherever possible. If blowing your budget on a branded face wash isn’t your priority, go with one that is at least paraben free.

Scrub or Tonic

Slough dead skin off and clean out your pores. Make sure you only do this once or twice a week maximum though, no one needs enlarged pores or irritated skin.

Tone 

Seal and shrink your pores after you’ve opened them (with cleansing and scrubbing), this step will also help soothe any irritations you might be facing.

Serum 

This is food for your skin. Any stressors or issues you might be up against can be fixed in this step. Nourish away, girlfriend.

Moisturise 

This is your best friend in the fight against aging, dryness, dullness, oiliness, wrinkles and fine lines.

If you’re still thinking 5 steps is waaaay too much for me to deal with RN, start with step 1 and 5 and commit to this. The investment you put in now will pay off when you’re only a few years older, and I promise, you’ll start to see results in a few weeks! You want to be that rocking 50 something year old who doesn’t look a day over 21.
