How To: Grow Longer and Thicker Hair

Some girls are just blessed with enviously long and thick hair. The rest of us? Well we need to constantly work and battle to get our long and thick hair. If you struggle to grow your hair or if just seems to never thicken out, I have a few simple tips for you to achieve the longer and thicker hair you dream of:

Think About Your Scalp

The shampoo you wash your hair with will make a huge difference on how healthy, long, and thick your hair is. Your hair follicles are immediately under the scalp so your shampoo really will penetrate there and reach them. Make sure you give your head a healthy dose of vitamins that will boost keratin production.. For the absolute best results, however, you should consider giving yourself a weekly scalp massage which will bring more blood flow to the scalp and will help hair growth.

Don’t Wash Too Much

Although shampooing your hair is a great opportunity to give your hair an extra shot of vitamins, don’t think that more is better! Shampoo too much and you’ll risk getting rid of the hair’s amazing natural oils which keep your hair looking shiny, thick and healthy. Find a balanced routine that allows your natural oils to flourish while remember to wash enough to remove the dirt and residue from our products that builds up. Don’t forget to regularly and deliberately brush your hair to distribute these oils as well as exfoliate your scalp!

Regular Trims

Cutting your hair to get longer hair seems counterintuitive. Wrong! We must continually remove our dead ends to let our hair grow out strong and healthy. If you don’t continually remove these, the brittle hair ends will continue to split up the rest of the strand of hair, making your hair look and feel thinner.

A Healthy Diet

If you really want the thickest and longest hair, you’ll need to go further than simply topically applying vitimins straight to your scalp. Instead, incorporating lots of vegetables, protein, and water into your diet will give you the look you want (as well as do wonders for your skin and health in the process). For the best results, consider vitamin supplements such as Omega 3 fish oils!
