Ten Step South Korean Skincare Routine

It seems that recently, it’s been impossible to miss the miraculous wonders of South Korean skincare. A simple look through insta and you’ll find seemingly impossible results. Don’t worry though, it can be done, and I’m to share a simple guide to recreate the perfect South Korean skincare routine:

 Step One: Cleanse

To begin your routine, you want to begin with a light skin cleanse to remove your makeup. Oil- or cream-based cleansers (depending on your skin type) are best for this stage.

 Step Two: Double Cleanse

After your light cleanse, you want to go for a deeper cleanse using your favourite face wash and water.

 Step Three: Exfoliate

Another step that you should already be familiar with! Use your preferred exfoliator (see my article to help you chose) and exfoliate you face.

 Step Four: Tone

Now, to restore your skin’s natural PH levels, apply some toner to your skin. For this step, I use Pixi Glow’s tonic.

 Step Five: Essence

Here comes one of the more particularly Korean steps to the routine. Choose an essense or lotion to target issues which you feel are causing your skin problems. These can be for anything from acne, scarring, redness, uneven tone, dullness, etc. To get you started, I’d recommend Brightly Ever After’s essence.

 Step Six: Eye Cream

Want to retain your youthfulness or limit the tired-look that comes with those late nights of binging Netflix (or Modern East content!)? Apply an eye cream, being careful to avoid upsetting the extremely sensitive skin here!

 Step Seven: Serum

Thicker, and more intensive than an essence, apply your preferred serum to your entire face!

 Step Eight: Face Mask

If you to make sure your serum is absorbed deeply into the skin, or even just to iject some extra moisture, you should now apply a sheet mask.

Step Nine: Moisturise

Now you should lock all the goodness into your skin and provide some final revitalisation with your favourite moisturiser!

 Step Ten: Sunscreen

Last, but definitely not least, you must protect your work! Use a sunscreen on your skin (whatever the weather) to limit the damaging effects of UV rays and pollution that you skin is subjected to.
