This book got me flipping through the pages so fast as I was intrigued by the psychology of it. It explains the science of how habits work, and how we can pick our habits and change them to live a more productive and fulfilling life. It helped me understand- as the title suggests- the power of habit, as well as learn some mind-blowing facts. Did you know that about 40% of actions we perform on a daily basis as habits are done on autopilot? The author pointed out that knowing what triggers your habits is key. By understanding this, you can eliminate a bad habit and replace it with a good one just by identifying what the triggers are. When you are in control of your habits, you are in control of your life.
There is a quote I live by “show me your habits and I’ll show you your future”. This quote says it all, your habits dictate your life. You can form habits by doing the action enough times until it become almost second nature. I highly recommend picking up a copy of this book as habits rule your life- and if you’re looking to take control of yours, start by reading this remarkably insightful book!

This book is a small one and quiet an easy ready, but don’t let its cute size fool you as it is packing some heavy and some might say controversial ideas s. It is split up into 48 small chapters, each teaching a lesson of power and strategies on getting there. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea a due to its underlying, “do what you have to do to succeed” mentality, however I appreciated the direct manner in which the author exposed those laws of what it takes to win.
Robert Greene draws back to 3,000 years in history with examples of great rulers and historic figures on their journey to power. Some used their wisdom, some their confidence, and some used trickery to get there. It explores mindsets of people such as Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz and takes a realistic look at the world and how people can act in certain ways in order to get ahead.
