Tania George Design // Spotlight On

Tania’s styles may be cute but they run a lot deeper than just cotton candy, and who doesn’t love fashion with a story? Born and raised in Amman, Tania fled to Florence to indulge in the Italian fashion scene where she studied at Polimoda Fashion Institute. After graduating and gaining experience at some of our favorite fashion brands, Tania moved back to Jordan where she spent time working with local women and refugees to develop her handmade, ready to wear collection.

With the mindset of clothes for a cause, Tania took incentive in helping women from war-torn countries by providing them with a chance to stitch, knit and sew their way to safety. Tania relies on the skills of the underprivileged woman who have mastered the craft of embroidery and tailoring through their mothers and grandmothers.

Helping these women gain a steady source of income, the initiative empowers them despite circumstances where their rights are slightly oppressed. Tania’s bright, fun, loving designs leave us loving this girl boss!

Taking us back in time with her designs, Tania’s nostalgic SS’18 collection of cotton candy, Laban and bushar prints gives us a retro, yet modern day feel with her play on the past. What we love about her designs is her ability to take symbolic and iconic kitschy pieces from her past, and incorporate them into a fun line filled with color, print and playful silhouettes.

What looks like something that was shot in your corner bakala, residential back streets or schoolyard, Tania’s lookbook for her SS’18, Chibs Bibs Canary collection, will bring back memories to anyone who has grown up in the region. The pastel color palette and youthful prints can brighten up any mood. While browsing through her bomb photo library will definitely bring up some of your fondest childhood memories.

We absolutely love what this boss has done!
