10 Specialty Coffee Spots in DXB

With the rise of the coffee culture – especially here in the region most recently – I find myself completely intrigued and curious as to how this trend all of a sudden made a boom. Starbucks? Oh how dare you! Caribou, who? Mainstream coffee franchises have all of a sudden become completely passé, where if I go back just a couple of years, holding a venti Starbucks cup was the IT accessory.

Today, the cool factor is all about your Cold Drip from Frame, beans from Seven Fortunes and coffee meetings at Arabica. Want to jump on the specialty coffee band wagon? Check out these 10 super cool new(ish) coffee spots in Dubai, and explore their interesting menus!

1. RAW

Tucked away in Al Quoz is RAW Coffee Company that prides itself in fair trade, 100% organic coffee. Homegrown concept RAW sources premium green beans from around the world, and then are all roasted in small batches. Some cool facts about RAW? You can order a subscription and get coffee delivered to you regularly, their Al Qouz warehouse also serves great coffee and a cool place to work from if you have a desk-less job.

2. Seven Fortunes

Another roaster that lives in the trendy Al Qouz, Seven Fortunes is a local born specialty coffee roaster. Not only can you buy their coffee beans, but you can also visit their space and buy some coffee equipment and their Seven Fortunes merch. They also specialize in training baristas all around the region.

3. Espresso Lab

Founded by Emirati entrepreneur Ibrahim Al Mallouhi, this is the IT coffee spot at the mo. The Espresso Lab is another homegrown coffee concept shop that is the definition of cool. Set up in the Dubai Design District this coffee shop serves the BEST cup of speciality coffee with only the finest beans. Cool fact? Besides their regular menu, the Espresso Lab also offers seasonal coffee selections.

4. % Arabica

Unlike the rest, Arabica is a concept that is brought to us all the way from Kyoto, Japan. With a mission to “see the world through coffee” % Arabica founder Kenneth Shoji is nothing short of a man with a passion. With branches across the Middle East in the UAE, Kuwait and Oman this is defs a spot that you need to check out if your a coffee enthusiast.
