I recently came across an article about an app-defined as the “Shazam of art”, which I thought was absolutely amazing. Turns out there are so many great apps out there for art lovers, or simply for the ones who want a break from social media and appreciate another type of esthetics, slightly different from perfect bikini bodies that tend to fill our insta feeds these days…

Smartify is a free app that allows you to scan and identify artworks, access rich interpretation, unlock stories behind the art and build a personal art collection in some of the world’s best museums and galleries. Samrtify is linked to specific venues and offers analytics to the venues on who is scanning the artwork. If you have a venue containing art pieces you can get in touch and get your venue on the app.
Have you ever heard of Google Cultural Institute? It’s ok, before researching this, I hadn’t either…So Google’s Cultural Institute is the team behind the mantra “magic happens when Technology meets Culture” and with this in mind, they created The Lab in Paris, (a hub dedicated to tech and creativity) as well as the Google Art & Culture app: Discover artworks, collections historical sites and stories from all around the world. The app is really amazing, visually appealing, super user-friendly and there are so many cool things to discover every day. And it’s free to download!
