Dubai is an incredible travel hub, connecting so many different parts of the world; with 6,500 direct flights a week, Dubai is one of the busiest transit spots, seeing thousands of people stopping through before connecting on to somewhere else. And the great thing for those of us living here, are the variety of places right on our doorstep for short getaways and mini adventures as we seek out places to go to for a long weekend.

Known for its exotic beaches and epic surf spots, Sri Lanka’s coast is a little retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, perfect for the beach bums and nature lovers alike. If you choose mountains over the beach, then head North and find yourself surrounded by national parks, lush tea plantations and plenty of opportunities to go hiking and enjoy the outdoors.
