Best Picnic Spots in Dubai

It’s summer! Time to get out there and enjoy the sunshine and those extra hours of daylight. What better way to welcome the season than with a picnic in Dubai? Dubai never disappoints, no matter what type of spot you’re looking for. A fabulous place to picnic is definitely easy to find. So, grab your picnic basket, some of your besties, and a blanket, and head out there to nosh alfresco! Here are our top picks for perfect picnic locations.

Al-Qudra Lake

In under an hour, you could be picnicking in this idyllic park located in the Al-Marmoon Desert Reserve. Pack your bathing suit, and your bike, along with your food hamper and make a real day out of things. You’ll have to chance to encounter some spectacular wildlife as well. Oryx, birds, desert foxes, and other local animals are frequently spotted.

Creekside Park

Settle into a beautiful shaded spot to enjoy some tasty treats while enjoying the lovely view of Dubai Creek. In addition to chowing down, when you’ve finished eating, you can find several activities within the park and close by. Ride the cable car through the park. Stroll through the botanical gardens and enjoy all the lovely green vegetation. The ever-popular Dubai Dolphinarium is also nearby if you’ve got the urge to visit.

Al Mamzar Beach Park

Although Sunset Beach is also a top pick for a beautiful beach-side picnic, our vote goes to Al Mamzar. It edges out the competition due to the fact that it is often incredibly quiet and peaceful. It also boasts 5 different beaches. There’s plenty of lawn space if you would rather eat on some grass rather than in the sand. Hey, we all have our preferences. There are barbecue facilities available if you’d like your picnic to feature hot food. You’ll also find beach cabins here, for those especially sweltering days, that can be rented at a reasonable fee.

Al Barsha Pond Park

This is a very popular spot to picnic for families during the weekend. Our insider tip to avoid the crowds is try to hit this place up on a weekday. Set your blanket down next to the lake-sized pond and just relax as you enjoy your surroundings. People watch as you nibble your sandwiches or scarf up some hummus. You can even go for a boat ride around the pond when you’re finished. There are fun swan-shaped paddle boats for rent. There are also solar powered boats available which can accommodate more people. Rentals are very affordable and super fun.

Safa Park

This one remains a tried and true favorite for picnickers. Though its overall size has shrunk a bit due to several urban projects, there are still plenty of prime spots to sprawl out and feast. You’ll find terrific views, plenty of green, and waterside spots. There are tables available if you forgot your blanket and barbecue areas peppered throughout as well.  Can we come, too?
