Must-Visit Gardens In The UAE

Feeling like you need a brief respite from the hustle and bustle of city life? Want to trade steal and concrete for plants and petals? These gardens in the UAE offer a great escape to a green oasis for a fabulous day trip or way to spend a few hours that will have you feeling close to nature and fully recharged. Check them out to get a slice of tranquillity in a wonderfully hectic world.

1. Dubai Miracle Garden

Open from mid-November until mid-May each year, this jaw-dropping garden will have you in awe with the bright, gorgeous displays. Their website boasts that they showcase over 150 million flowers in a variety of fanciful ways. Walk under giant flowered arches shaped like hearts, view the 12-meter high teddy bear, marvel at villages made of flower-strewn houses. You can even eat inside a flower castle! Cabanas offer a place to rest while you visit. For still more to do, check out the flower parade, trampoline park, or their weekly live shows. Don’t forget your camera!

2. Al Ain Oasis

This incredible spot in Abu Dhabi sprawls out for an impressive 3,000 acres and houses over 147,000 date palm trees and over 100 varieties of vegetation fed by underground wells. It is open daily from 8am-5-pm and also features restaurants and shops which are open until 9 pm. Take a leisurely stroll through the date palm-lined promenades to enjoy the shade or visit the oasis garden that represents the three levels of the oasis ecosystem.

3. Dubai Butterfly Garden

Considered “part of” the Miracle Garden, but with its own separate entrance and admission price, the Dubai Butterfly Garden is home to around 15,000 of 26 species of butterflies. Take an hour and indulge your secret inner Disney princess as you traverse the domes that house these colourful beauties. You might just be lucky enough to have a few land on you or alight on your hand. There’s also a Starbucks within the complex area because you know, butterflies and coffee is just a no-brainer for a good time.

4. Umm Al Emarat Park

Located in Abu Dhabi this park is lauded by visitors as being a great way to spend some time outside of the city and surrounded by beautiful green nature. If you’re up for a bit of a challenge, try out the maze and see how long it takes you to come out the other side.  Check out the the botanical garden area which highlights over 200 regional types of plants and contains calming water features. Just in case you need further reasons to visit, there is also an evening garden, an animal barn, and an amphitheater! G’wan, get out there!
