The world is a beautiful place and who doesn’t want the best view of it? Whether you want to see the most spectacular mountain ranges, oceans, or lakes or if you’re more of a city dweller with a thing for more urban landscapes, it can be hard to choose where to go in order to really see the world. In this list, I try get to get mix of some of the best of these views that you could hope to see, from the middle of the Andes mountains to a little closer to home! Here are my top five picks for views in the world:
Located in Central California, there is hardly a meter in Yosemite National Park that doesn’t have some awe-inspiring view. With gorgeous hiking trails, the dramatic ‘Half Dome’, and the magnificent Yosemite Falls, I believe that more than one of the world’s most beautiful views are here. The stand out view by far, however, is the view of the Yosemite Valley from Tunnel View which provides a wonderous view of the jagged mountains and lush trees below.

There is nothing in this world quite like the view at Machu Pichu in the Peruvian Andes. Once the home to the Inca people, this long-abandoned settlement seamlessly blends the eeriness of the ancient Incan capital and the stunning vistas of the surrounding Mountains. Not only is the view from Machu Picchu to die for, but the journey from Cusco (the nearest city) to the ruins is quite special. The best way to get to get there from Cusco is either by trekking (if you’re fit enough, definitely the best way) or by train! Avoid taking the minivan up as this tends to be the most dangerous method.
In terms of urban landscapes, this is definitely up there with the greatest views I the world. Although many people dream of one day going up the Empire State Building, the view there is missing one crucial thing; the Empire State Building. Instead, for the best views of New York City you should go to the viewing gallery at the top of Rockefeller Centre where you can get the best panorama of Manhattan, Empire State included!
When thinking about a drive down the Amalfi Coast, its usually the quaint villages, world-class restaurants and cafes, or the history that you’ll think of first. It’s merely a bonus that the Amalfi Coast road is one of the most scenic in the world. Perhaps, as quintessentially and classically Italian as it gets, the road provides attractive views not only out the island of Capri to the west, but into the beautiful towns that are nestled into the cliffs.

Last but certainly not least on the list is Mount Fuji in Japan. This perfectly formed volcano is not only stunning in its own right but the landscape surrounding it is extremely pretty too; with a host of lakes and even a hot spring resort at its foot. Be warned, however, that the most spectacular views are usually reserved for the colder months when cloud cover is likely to be less dense. With some luck, you might get a crystal-clear sky and the greatest insta post of your life, however, the mountain is still beautiful year round!
