The West Coast Trail: Vancouver Island, Canada

For an incredible hike that will provide a myriad of stunning landscapes, it’s hard to beat this trail. It follows a route that has been in use for thousands of years, as it once functioned as a travel and trading route for the local indigenous people. Trolltunga, Norway

Translating to the “Troll’s Tongue”, this is one of the most popular hiking destinations in all of Norway. One look at some of the amazing photographs people have taken here, and it’s not hard to see why. The total hike to the long outcropping of rock known as Trolltunga will take you around 8 to 10 hours. The views along the way are stunning.

Robberg Peninsula, Garden Route, South Africa

We love adventurous hikes by the sea. This one is pretty darn close to perfect. It’s a round-trip hike of about 9.2 km, and takes roughly 5 hours or so to complete. Along the way you’ll get gorgeous views of the the coastline. You’ll even likely be able to watch the local seals play in the surf.

Tour du Mont Blanc, France, Italy, and Switzerland

There’s hiking, and then there’s hiking. If you take your hikes super seriously and really want to make an event out of things, then this is the trek for you. You’ll pass through 3 countries on the 180 km jaunt as you make the circuit around Mont Blanc. It’s the highest peak in western Europe. There are plenty of places to rest your weary feet along the way, including hotels and restaurants. There are also several starting points. If you need to throw in the towel, there is public transportation available to help you get from point A to point B along the circuit.
