TV Inspired Makeup Looks To Try

TV shows have become a cornerstone defining our culture, from defining fashion trends to music tastes and of course the way we view makeup. Needless to say, this proved true when Euphoria was released, and the beauty community was taken by a storm. Here are some shows to inspire your next makeup look and how you could adapt their vision into your everyday looks.

1. Euphoria

This list couldn’t begin without leading with Euphoria. The show’s storyline was captivated, but what certainly helped differentiate it from a lot of other teenage drama series was the unorthodox makeup. While the ethereal, but colorful, style existed before the show started airing, they certainly helped popularize it. The best thing about it was most looks were done using cheap products such as those from Colourpop. You could also buy gems from Amazon if you’re more into the studded looks. Check out the show’s makeup artist Doniella Davy’s Instagram for more information on products and information on the looks created for the show.

2. Friends

While this might seem like an odd choice given Friends wasn’t really known for its makeup, it did embody all the fashion, and makeup looks that were cool in the ’90s and early 2000s. From cool-toned shadows to dark brown lipstick and even darker lip liners, Phoebe, Rachel and Monica as well as other female characters on the show (hi, Janice), rocked these looks that are on their way to be cool again.

3. Addams Family

While the Addams look is usually reserved for Halloween, black never goes out of style. Whether you go heavy-handed with contour for a Morticia look or braids with smoky black eyeshadow to channel your inner Wednesday, there’s no room for error here.

4. Riverdale

Riverdale is the most stripped-back show in terms of makeup on this list. In other terms, the looks are a lot more wearable. You could go for Cheryl Blossom’s staple red lip (the show’s makeup artist disclosed that she always wears this Lime Crime matte lipstick). If you want a more neutral look, Betty Cooper’s your go-to inspo! Grab your favorite nude lip gloss, some moisturizer and lengthening mascara, and you’re good to go. If you want a more daring look, pop on those blue, yellow and white shades to show support for the high school.
