Fun Make-Up Trends

This Fall, we’re witnessing so many trends that we took from runway to everyday. The return of some autum classics are reintroduced with modern twists for looks that are anything but boring.

I’ve put together 5 of the most popular trends that have been all over the Instagram and how to add them to your looks. Those are the ones going strong and don’t seem to be dying anytime soon.

Bringing Back the 90s Signature Brown Lips

As we move forward and progress in fashion, trends from the previous eras keep coming back. I remember growing up in the 90s and would steal my mom’s lipliner and lipstick to wear. It was always a brown or nude lipstick with a slightly and subtle darker liner. I clearly remember the palate being more brown than colourful. This fall, the deep hue has made a strong revival, and we are seeing this look around as if we have been teleported back to the 90s (I wish!)

Huda Beauty actually even created an entire collection of gorgeous brown lipsticks dedicated to the supermodel 90s era called the Power Bullet Matte Lipstick Throwback collection. PS. If you have not seen that campaign, you need to go check it out, because WOW that got me nostalgic and gave me serious Cindy Crawford, and Claudia Schieffer feels.

I have been seeing girls playing around with glitter more than ever. I personally am still stuck in my 14 year old mind and do find this trend appealing. I noticed this first when watching the Netflix show Euphoria and immediately got inspired. A subtle glitter lid or lash line is a super cute way to introduce this look without going all out. But I must warn you, once you commit to glitter, expect to find glitter everywhere for the nest weeks all over your pillow, clothes and hair. You decide if it’s worth it for you. For me, it absolutely is, because glitter makes me happy!

Single Colour Shadows

I have seen this all over instagram, and one of the biggest wearers of this trend is Ola Farahat. This is the go-to look for the girl who cares about fashion but really has no time to dedicate to crazy looks. Especially with all those fun events coming up Fashion Forward, SOLE DXB, it will look like you’ve really thought about your look when in reality all you did was stick your finger into the eyeshadow palette and swiped it across you lid. Try just one high impact shade such a cobalt blue, or fuchsia. A tip here is to apply a primer and translucent powder to the lids before applying  colour for a smooth base and long lasting look. Another amazing thing about this is you don’t need to be a professional to make it look like you know what you’re doing- the look is meant to have this sort of messy look so voila!

Graphic Eyes

Only they can pull this off 🤪

Forget the classic cat eye or basic cat liner. This fall, geometric statements are the new cat liner. Why don’t you try drawing a triangle, at the upper outer corner where you’d usually draw the feline flick. You can also swap you regular black liner for a pop of colour to give your look that extra wow factor.

Neons

The ’80s have made their way back when it comes to eye makeup. Now and although you may be intimidated by the boldness, there definitely is a way to wear it without looking like a clown. The trick is to keep the rest of the skin fresh and neutral, and and commit to a bold neon color on eyes or lips.
