If you’re a millennial like me, you probably feel a bit left behind on the whole TikTok thing. It’s a bit sad really, as it’s the first marker that we are no longer the youngest or “coolest” generation. It’s probably the first time we’ve been “too old” to probably get behind a new social media service. Well fear no more, because I have some tricks up my sleeve to help you catch up and get yourself on the way to having the perfect TikTok bedroom. Here are just a few of my favorite accessories to get that TikTok vibe:

Light Strips

It doesn’t matter how boring or drab your millennial bedroom looks, spice it up a bit with some moody light strips. These can stick on your wall anywhere but for maximum effect use the light to emphasize current straight features of your room, such as the window, bed, or even the entire ceiling perimeter!

Neon Lights

Tear those vinyl sticker inspirational quotes off your wall immediately. Get it replaced with an unmissably bright neon light quote instead. Extra points for cheesiness. If you’re not one for quotes though, lightning-shaped or moon-shaped neons will do!

Polaroid Pictures

While light strips and neons are perfect to show off your moody night time TikTok room, you need to have something to show how indie and cool you are in the day. My suggestion? A piece of string with some of your favorite Polaroid pictures attached. If you don’t have a Polaroid, don’t worry, you can print them online and just pretend you own the camera.

Succulents

You still need to round that bright day time look off though and how else should you do this than with the official plant of Gen-Z: succulents. What else says you’re young and cool than a little green plant in a little funky pot?! You’re welcome.
